EURO 2024: The Host

The UEFA EURO 2024 will be hosted by Germany. The UEFA Executive Committee decided in a meeting in 2018 in Nyon that Germany will stage the 17th edition of the EUFA European Championship. The 1998 edition was hosted by West Germany. This time will be the first for Germany to stage the UEFA European Championship since the reunification. 

EURO 2024: Important Dates

The big question is, when will the final tournament be? According to the released official dates, the UEFA EURO 2024 final tournament will be from June 14th to July 14th. The group stage runs will be until June 26th. The knockout stage on the other hand will start on June 29th. 

  • The opening game will be in Munich Football Arena on June 14, 2024. 
  • UEFA EURO 2024 finals will be on July 14, 2024, at the Olympiastadion Berlin.

  • Group A: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
  • Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
  • Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
  • Group D: Poland, Netherlands, Austria, France

  • Group F: Türkiye, Georgia, Portugal, Czechia

10 venues were chosen to host the games. Nine of these stadiums were also used during the 2006 World Cup. These are the set venues for the EURO 2024:

Now that the dates and venues are set, people wonder where the fan zones will be in Germany. The host sets dedicated fan zones, complete with public viewing installations. Meet “Albärt” – EURO 2024 Mascot!

And like any other major soccer event. UEFA also has an official tournament mascot, “Albärt.” Choosing Albärt followed a voting session hosted by UEFA.com users. Votes have also come from other schoolchildren in Europe as facilitated by the UEFA Football in Schools program. From the options, Albärt won and was first introduced to German fans in June 2023.
